Location:  based North West/Midlands (with travel away from home a requirement)

Salary: £33,000 per annum

Permanent position

35 hours per week

DMWS is an international charity that has been providing welfare support to the Armed Forces Community for over 70 years.  As well as having a proven track record of delivering a highly professional welfare support service, we have developed and established a robust DMWS Training Arm.  

An exciting opportunity has now arisen at DMWS for a Training Manager who will have responsibility for both the development and delivery of welfare related training courses.  This role will suit an experienced training delivery practitioner with great interpersonal skills and a commitment and loyalty to the team and organisation.  This will include developing business plans for the training arm of the charity, development and marketing of new courses and the delivery of current course portfolio. If applicants are already trained and experienced in the delivery of Mental Health First Aid, this would be beneficial. The position holder will be required to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Welfare Officers – Greater Manchester Area

Salary: £23,500.00 per annum pro rata. 

Location: Various in the Greater Manchester Area. Ideally the successful candidates will live within commutable distance

If you are an enthusiastic, self confident self-starter, with empathy for the Armed Forces and with great interpersonal skills who would like to make a difference to our military veterans aged 65 years and over, their families and carers, then we would like to hear from you. 

Come and join our team, supporting the military veteran’s community when they are in hospital (inpatient and outpatient), or receiving treatment in community based health facilities.

The role involves, on a rota basis, out of hours and weekend emergency cover.   All DMWS Welfare Officers are expected to be mobile and deployable. You will be working within a friendly and supportive environment, making a real difference and receiving great benefits.

Working as part of a team you will be supporting service users when they are in hospital (inpatient and outpatient), or receiving treatment in community based health facilities.  Work will be arranged dependant on service needs and by mutual agreement.
