Hourly Rate: £13.10 per hour

You could help us provide continuity of service and make a real difference to lives of people in the military community and others. Are you confident, a self-starter with welfare experience? Do you have great interpersonal skills, compassion and are you extremely self-motivated?

DMWS is an international charity that has been providing welfare support to the Armed Forces Community for over 75 years.  

You will be supporting the military community when they are in hospital (inpatient and outpatient), or receiving treatment in community based health facilities.   You will be working within a dynamic organisation, making a real difference to those who give everything for their country.

You will need to be mobile, with your own transport and a willingness to travel.

We are particularly interested in applications from people based in South Lanarkshire and Birmingham.

Veteran Charities Project Facilitator

Scotland (Home-based – near the Borders)

12 months Fixed Term Contract

 About Us:

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Assisting registered charities and community interest groups help and support the mental health and wellbeing of veterans
  • Helping facilitate new projects get off the ground
  • Encouraging collaboration between organisations and build networks
  • Report on projects to funders using Key Performance Indicators and case studies
  • Assisting in the provision of Welfare Services across the organisation
  • Promotion of the Positive Pathways Programme (see https://www.covenantfund.org.uk/positive-pathways-programme/

Requirements: 

  • A real passion for Welfare Services
  • Organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to initiate and manage influential external relationships
  • Empathy with the armed forces
  • An understanding of the third sector in Scotland 

Essential criteria:

  • Willing to travel extensively around Scotland and occasionally to London
  • Have your own transport and a full driving licence
  • Flexible and willing to help develop other DMWS services
  • Be self-motivated and entrepreneurial
  • Experience of Welfare Services
