Armed Forces South We are delighted to extend our bespoke medical welfare service to the entire military community across the South of England, where the majority of serving military personnel and veterans are located. Our Welfare Officers are located in hospitals throughout the area to support patients and family members when their clinical needs are being met, but when other issues or problems affects their wellbeing. This could range from liaison with medical staff and relevant military units, providing a listening ear and talking through any concerns, act as an advocate giving information to help informed decision making and supporting patient/family choices, specialist referrals to other agencies or simply providing toiletries for emergency admissions. Our charity has been delivering this vital service to the Armed Forces community for 75 years and we understand that serving personnel, veterans and their families can face unique pressures – often being based away from their close support network or with partners deployed on operations, dealing with service related injuries and disjointed continuity of health provision.
