In August last year, Mark Lucas left the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) after a successful 24-year Army career. He was faced with the big question “What next?”. To narrow down his future career options Mark networked with peers and attended career fairs. He also mapped his military qualifications to the civilian environment, which demonstrated his strength in the welfare arena. he joined the DMWS working as a Welfare Officer for the Aged Veteran Project in Herefordshire. Mark said: “I feel honoured to provide our Veterans with the support they need and deserve. The job really gives me a sense of purpose and achievement.”
